The future of North Texas depends on the young people growing up in our communities today. CAAPCO’s outreach programs are built on that belief. By linking young people to real-world chances, we help them imagine what’s possible and start their journey with confidence.
Why Outreach Matters
Many young people never meet an engineer, a physician, an accountant, or a business owner who looks like them or came from a neighborhood like theirs. CAAPCO can change that. Our coalition includes more than 30 professional and community organizations and over 7,000 members across the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Those members are active in medicine, law, dentistry, engineering, aviation, finance, media, technology, public service, and many other fields. Through outreach, we put those role models in front of the young people who need them most.
Built on Proven Partnerships
CAAPCO’s outreach work draws strength from our long-standing partnerships. We have worked alongside Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Dallas metropolitan area to support mentoring relationships that help young people build confidence and direction. We have partnered with the Dallas Independent School District to reach students where they learn. Member organizations such as African American Leaders of Tomorrow (AALOT) bring a dedicated focus on developing future leaders.
Corporate and civic partners, including State Farm Insurance, American Airlines, and Dallas area Chambers of Commerce, have also joined CAAPCO in efforts that expand opportunity across our region.
Planned by Our Community Outreach Committee
CAAPCO’s Community Outreach Committee plans educational and charitable programs and develops new ways for the coalition to enrich our community. Our committee teams up with member organizations to spot needs, organize volunteers, and bring the whole coalition’s energy to every project. Because of CAAPCO’s structure, a program started by one organization can quickly gain the support of many.
Opening Doors to Opportunity
At its core, CAAPCO’s mission is to support programs that enhance the economic and employment opportunities available to the communities we serve. Outreach is where that mission begins. When our youth is exposed to professional networks and careers early, they are better prepared to pursue education, enter the workforce, and eventually give back themselves.
Our outreach efforts aim to:
- Connect youth with mentors and professional role models
- Expose students to careers across a wide range of industries
- Support schools and youth-serving organizations in North Texas
A Legacy of Service Since 1997
CAAPCO was incorporated in 1997 as the first organization of its kind in the region. For more than a quarter century, we have provided community service, economic empowerment, and networking opportunities in the Dallas metropolitan area, particularly within minority communities. Our legacy is carried forward best by investing in the youth.
