The CAAPCO Group has engaged in a number of membership and community service activities. A partial list appears below:
The CAAPCO Group has joined with the Dallas Chapter of the National Black MBA Association for highly successful toy drives that benefit the children of the Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation and other organizations;
CAAPCO teamed with the Metropolitan Area Big Brothers and Big Sisters in a project to increase the number of African-American volunteers;
CAAPCO also launched a drive among its member organizations to support the Freedman Foundation’s project which erected a memorial on the Freedman’s cemetery site that monumentalizes Freedman’s town where over 7,000 slaves lived after the Civil War;
In conjunction with the National Marrow Donor Program, CAAPCO has initiated a drive to increase the number of African-Americans on the national bone marrow donor registry;
CAAPCO, in collaborations with the DISD Career Advisory Committee, sponsored the most comprehensive ever Career Exposure Forum, which was designed to expose hundreds of minority youth to the wide variety of occupations open to them. The Forum brought together the largest number and variety of occupations of any career fair ever held in the Dallas Independent School District. It was also the first time the General Superintendent of the Dallas Public Schools has publicly endorsed such a career fair; and
CAAPCO routinely sponsors or co-sponsors membership receptions and other outings designed to give its members and supporters a vehicle in which they can mingle and interact with those who hold similar ideals.
