About CAAPCO

CAAPCO is a non-profit organization and is the largest coalition of professional organizations of its kind in the state of Texas.  Its primary focus is on Education, Professional Development, and Community Service.  The group includes professionals (employees and business-owners) from areas such as medicine, law, dentistry, accounting, engineering, aviation, finance and banking, print and broadcast media, MBAs, entertainment, sports, sales, law enforcement, firefighting, communications, teaching, telecommunications, data processing, human resources, social work, etc.

CAAPCO’s members come from all companies in the DFW area, such as AT&T, American Airlines, J.C. Penney, Kimberly-Clark, Texas Instruments, Southwest Airlines, Tenet Healthcare, GameStop, Affiliated Computer Services, Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, Celanese, Atmos, RadioShack, Blockbuster, Frito-Lay, FedEx Office, Alon USA, and many others. The membership in CAAPCO’s affiliate organizations also consists of dozens of local leaders, as well as prominent business owners and members of most major and small law firms, major and small accounting firms, engineering firms, financial services companies, etc.

Objective:  

As a coalition of professional and community organizations that have pooled together to combine the efforts of each of the founding organizations, CAAPCO makes a greater impact on the North Texas community. The premise of CAAPCO is that the success of community activities and programs can only be heightened if all CAAPCO groups and supporters join hands to advance a common cause – giving back to the community.

Mission:

CAAPCO’s mission is to assist with programs designed to enhance the economic and employment opportunities available to the communities it serves. CAAPCO strives to stimulate a cross-support system for all of its organizations to create more involvement and participation for each other’s activities.

History:

The CAAPCO Group was incorporated in January 1997 and is the first organization of its kind in this region. Since its inception, CAAPCO has provided unparalleled community service, economic empowerment and networking opportunities in the Dallas metropolitan area particularly within the minority communities. The collective membership of CAAPCO’s sponsoring organizations exceeds 7,000 members.  CAAPCO has previously partnered with entities such as the Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation, the Dallas Metropolitan area Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the Freedman Foundation, the National Marrow Donor Program, Dallas Independent School District, Dallas Symphony Association, State Farm Insurance, American Airlines, Dallas area Chambers of Commerce, and many other companies and organizations.  CAAPCO also routinely sponsors membership receptions and other beneficial outings designated to cultivate interaction with like minded individuals.
